Welcome (1 minute)
Welcome back for the last lesson of our Superbook adventure titled “King Solomon.” If you were here last time, who was Solomon’s father? King David.
Yes, and what did Solomon ask God for? Wisdom and the ability to know right from wrong and an understanding heart.
Raise your hand if you would like to be wise.
Anyone who is wise will say yes to that, right? The wisest thing that anyone can do is to believe in Jesus as their Savior. So let’s stand and worship the Lord as we sing The Salvation Poem!
Play Video 7:(Song) The Salvation Poem (3 minutes)
Be sure to preview the song so you can sing along with the children.

SuperTruth and Discussion (2 minutes)
Who likes to build things?
What do you like to build?Puzzles, forts, hideouts, video game virtual worlds, crafts, plastic brick structures, etc.
Today's SuperTruth is about building something very personal to each of us. It says, “I will build my life on God’s Word.” Let’s say it together. “I will build my life on God’s Word.”
Before King David died, he knew it was very important to remind his son Solomon once more to follow the ways of the Lord. David knew that if Solomon did this, God would bless his life and fulfill all of His promises to Solomon and his descendants. In other words, David encouraged his son to build his life on God’s Word.
Let’s say the SuperTruth together again. “I will build my life on God’s Word.”
Introduce Condensed Bible Story (1 minute)
If most or all children watched the Bible story video in a previous lesson, omit it here and go straight to the SuperVerse.
What are two important things we have learned about wisdom? True wisdom comes from God. We can ask God for wisdom and He will give us what we ask for.
Now we are going to watch a short version of the video about King Solomon. If you’ve already seen it, notice how many sacrifices King Solomon offered to God at a worship place called Gibeon.

SuperVerse (2 minutes)
Our SuperVerse today is Matthew 7:24:
“Anyone who listens to My teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.”
Who do you think said this verse? Jesus.
Have you ever listened to someone’s directions, and then chosen not to follow them?
This is similar to what Jesus is talking about. Being wise is not only listening to His Words, it’s also obeying them. Jesus compares this kind of wisdom to someone building a house on solid rock. What would be the benefits of building on solid rock instead of something like sand? It won’t change or move, it is strong and secure. It will last and won’t wash away.
Let’s say the SuperVerse together. Matthew 7:24:
“Anyone who listens to My teaching and follows it is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.”
Children will have more time to learn the SuperVerse in Small Group.
Introduce Signposts Video (1 minute)
In our Signposts Video, we will explore the lives of two very wise people. One man was one of wisest people who ever lived on the earth. The other person is actually Wisdom Himself! Now, it would be wise to start our video so we can learn more!

Prayer and Send-Off (2 minutes)
Let’s pray before we move to Small Group.
Dear God, Your Word is a solid foundation for us to build our lives upon. Your Word keeps us safe and secure, no matter what comes our way. We praise You that Your Word is eternal and will never fade away. In Jesus’ secure name we pray, Amen.
In your Small Group game today, you will play a game called “Watch Your Step.” Let’s go find out how to play this game!
Teachers take children to Small Group classes for Grades 1–3 and 4–6. If the combined group is small, all children may stay together for Small Group time.
