When we go to heaven someday, what kinds of things can we bring with us—can we bring a house, or a car, or a bicycle?
No, we can’t bring any “thing.” But there is something we CAN bring. Can you guess? It’s other people!
Our SuperTruth says: “I will prepare others for the coming of the Lord.” How can we do that?
Yes, we can help others and show them God’s love. We can share the Gospel and tell them that Jesus is coming again!
Have children think of five people they would like to show God’s love to, share the Gospel with, and tell them about the Second Coming of the Lord. Have the children write one name and draw a face on each sheet of paper. Then have them crumple the sheets into balls and place them in a pile on the floor at one end of the room.
Divide the children into pairs. Line them up at the opposite end of the room about 15–20 feet away from the pile of balls. Place the basket or box on the floor half way between the balls and the children.
The people we thought of are precious in God’s sight. They have so much value that Jesus died for them. These are people we would like to bring to heaven! The extra sheets I crumpled up do not have names or faces; this was done on purpose. These balls represent people we don’t know. We may not know their names or what they look like, but God does—and He wants them to know that He loves them and He’s coming back again!
Start the time. Each pair will have ten seconds—add time for younger children or those with special needs—to bring as many balls as possible to the basket/box that represents heaven. Count the balls after each turn and see which team can bring the most to heaven! Return balls to pile after they are counted. Play additional rounds as time permits.
Read Daniel 12:3:
Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.
I want to shine, don’t you? When we model God’s love and share the Gospel with others, we draw them toward righteousness, which is God! Who wants to shine like a star forever?
Me too! The only thing we can bring to heaven is other people. We don’t want to go empty handed! Let’s get busy!
