Superbook Catch and Shout: Memorize the SuperVerse with a group activity.

Let’s read our SuperVerse on the board together. 2 Corinthians 5:21:

For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.

In the beginning of creation, Adam and Eve were tempted by Satan to disobey God. They gave in to this temptation, and sin came into the world. From this point, people were separated from God and became unrighteous in His sight. This means they were no longer right, or in right standing with Him. To solve this problem, God sent His only Son Jesus to live a perfect life here on the earth and to become the perfect offering for the sin of the world. Only through Christ’s sacrifice can we be made right with God. There is no other way! (See Romans 5:1521.)If you have not accepted Christ as your Savior, you will be given an opportunity to do so in our prayer time. Today, you can become right with God!

Let’s do an activity which will help us learn today’s SuperVerse.

Have children form two lines perpendicular to the board, with several feet between the two lines.

Players line up directly across from another player opposite and facing them. (See illustration in Get Ready.)

Hand the ball to the first player at one end. The player shouts the first word of the SuperVerse and then passes the ball to the second player directly across from him/her.

The second player catches the ball, shouts the next word of the verse, and passes it to the third player across the row.

Continue this way until the entire SuperVerse is completed. Record the time on the board.

If the ball hits the floor, the player who last touched the ball picks it up and starts play with the next word of the verse.

Play additional rounds. Begin with a player who didn’t take a turn or a player at a different end.

Conclusion: Jesus never sinned; yet He loves us so much that He died to make us right with God and empower us to live for Him. Isn’t that wonderful?

If any children are not able to memorize the entire verse, be sure they understand its meaning.
