Victory! Color a picture of Jesus after defeating Satan in the wilderness.
Give an Angels Minister Color Page to each child. Provide crayons, colored pencils, or markers to the children. Have children write their names on the back of their page. Use the following questions to lead a discussion as children color their page.
1. Why was Jesus’ human body weak? He had not eaten for 40 days and nights.
2. Jesus’ body was weak, but what was strong? His Spirit. He was full of the Spirit. (See Luke 4:1.)
3. How did Jesus fight against the devil’s temptations? He spoke Scriptures; He used God’s Word.
4. Who came to help Jesus when Satan was finished tempting Him? God’s angels.
5. What does it mean for us that Jesus resisted temptation and never sinned? Hint: think of the SuperVerse. He made us right with God; He became an offering for our sin.
6. Can we be made right with God by doing enough good things; why or why not? No—no amount of good deeds is enough. It is only by faith in Jesus. We have sinned and only the blood of Jesus can cleanse our sins. Salvation is by faith, not by works. (See Ephesians 2:8–10.)
Allow children to share their pages with each other.
Pray: Dear God, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to die for us so that we could be made right with You and spend the rest of our lives in Your glorious presence. In Jesus’ saving name we pray, Amen.
