If You’re Patient and You Know It

Optional: Invite someone to play the guitar or piano and lead the children in singing this song about patience to a familiar tune. Or, simply lead it a capella. (A good key for children’s voices is G.)

Lead the children in singing a song to the familiar tune of “If You're Happy and You Know It,” but change the words for each verse as described below.

If you’re patient and you know it, clap your hands. Clap, clap.
If you’re patient and you know it, clap your hands, Clap, clap.

If you’re patient and you know it, and you really want to show it,

If you’re patient and you know it, clap your hands. Clap, clap.

Optional: Follow the pattern of Verse 1 but make the following changes:

Verse 2: If you trust God and you know it, stomp your feet. Stomp, stomp!

Verse 3: If Jesus is your Savior, say Amen! “Amen!”
