Chris will get detention if he’s late for school again, yet a hall monitor quickly reports him for not being on time. The two boys could never be friends—or could they? Superbook takes Chris, Joy and Gizmo—along with the hall monitor—to first-century Israel. They meet the Apostle Peter and Cornelius, a Roman army officer—two very different men with little in common until they both have amazing visions from the Lord. Chris and Gizmo try to help Joy do a school geography project by sending her on a round-the-world Holo-9 virtual tour. Chris is impressed by his father’s new invention. Chris covets the device and wants to use its power to impress his friends and earn lots of money. Superbook whisks the kids away to Samaria. There they watch Philip, Peter, and John teach a magician and his followers about the true power of the Holy Spirit. Later, they find Philip in the desert and witness the baptism of the Ethiopian Eunuch. Upon returning home, Chris is a changed person. He has been awed by the power of the Holy Spirit and begins his path towards baptism.

Joy is excited to have a whole new set of Christian friends. But when an old friend invites her to a party on the same day as a church event, Joy isn't sure what to do. Is it okay to hang out with unsaved friends? Superbook takes Joy, Chris and Gizmo to witness three Bible stories: the parable of the great supper (banquet), the calling of Matthew the tax collector, and the woman caught in sin. Joy is surprised to see Jesus spend time with sinners, tax collectors, the poor, and those with disabilities. She decides to become more like Jesus by following His example.
Superbook whisks the kids away to journey with Paul and Barnabas on their mission to spread the message of Jesus. The job becomes too much for disciple John Mark, who abandons the work and returns to Jerusalem.
