Prayer

Last lesson, we learned about Praise Prayers. Who remembers what they are? Thanking and praising God for who He is and what He can do, rather than asking Him for things.

Today, we will concentrate on praying for others. It’s easy to focus on ourselves when we pray, and God wants us to go to Him for all of our needs. Yet God also wants us to remember others when we pray.

Tell the children to pair up to be prayer pals. Preferably, boys are with boys and girls with girls. If there is an odd number, you can be a child’s prayer pal. Children should share the best thing that happened to them recently and a prayer concern that they have. Give examples from your own life, and tell children not to share anything that would be embarrassing or uncomfortable. They can provide very general information such as having a family member who is ill or a hard school assignment. Children may jot down notes to remind them how to pray for their prayer pals this week.

Pray for the group, thanking God that He answers our prayers.
