Prayer

Let’s use our SuperVerse to pray today.

Have the children sit in a large circle on the floor so they can see the board. One by one, ask several children to come up and circle a word in the verse that they think is important, and then ask why they chose the word. You can anticipate that “Jesus,” “believe,” “Messiah,” “God,” “life,” and “power” will be circled. Make sure the children understand what each word means.

Explain that you will say each key word they circled while they close their eyes and pray quietly about what it means. Encourage them to listen for God’s voice in their hearts. If anyone wishes to pray aloud, he or she may do so.

Close with a group prayer:

Father in heaven, we worship and praise only You. We believe that You sent Jesus to Earth. He did amazing miracles by Your authority and took care of people’s needs. Because we believe in You, our own lives are filled with Your power! Help us to be quick to bring our needs to You. Thank You for hearing our prayers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
