- Bible or the Superbook Bible App
Make one copy of each of the five pages on cardstock in color or black and white.
Optional: If images are in black and white, color them using markers or crayons.
Give one image each to five children. Have them stand in front of you in a row, facing the class. At your cue, they will raise and lower their images for the class to see.
Tell the Bible story slowly using the bullets provided. Say the words in bold text loudly to help cue the children to display their corresponding images.
Be expressive! Bring excitement and interest to the story by varying your facial expression, voice, and volume level.
When God speaks, use a deep but not scary voice.
● Long ago, no one on the earth obeyed God except for Noah.
● Because of this, God decided to send a flood to destroy every living thing on the earth except for Noah, his family, and two of each kind of animal.
● God told Noah to build a huge boat called an ark to keep his family and all the animals safe.
● Noah obeyed ALL of God’s instructions and built the ark, just as God said.
● When it was time, God told Noah, his family, and the animals to enter the ark
● God sent the rain. It rained, and it rained, and
it rained for 40 days and 40 nights!
Optional: have the class make rain sounds by
slapping their knees with their hands.
● There was so much rain that the highest mountains were covered by water!
● Because Noah obeyed God, Noah’s family and the animals stayed safe on the ark!
● Then God sent a strong wind.
Optional: have
the class say “woo” like the sound of the wind.
● Slowly, the water began to go down, down, and down.
● After many days, Noah opened a window and sent a bird called a dove to find dry land. It returned to the ark because there wasn’t a dry place to land.
● A while later, Noah sent the dove a second time. This time the dove returned holding an olive branch. This meant the dove had found a tree growing on the land.
● Noah released the dove a third time. The dove did not come back to the ark because it had found a nice, safe place to live!
● God told Noah that it was now safe to leave the ark.
● The ark door opened, and Noah, his family, and all of the animals walked out.
● The first thing Noah did was gather rocks to build an altar.
● At the altar, Noah thanked and worshiped God for protecting them.
● Then, God put a rainbow in the sky and promised Noah that He would never destroy the living things on the earth with a flood again.
● Every time you see a rainbow in the sky, remember that God protects us and always keeps His promises!
● Like Noah, you stay safe when you obey God!
So let’s choose to obey God and His Word. Let’s walk closely with Him to receive His protection and promises—just like Noah!
