questions:
● Who knows what I have in my hand(s)? Weights, barbells.
● What do you use them to do? Exercise, build muscles, get stronger.
● Have you ever seen someone using weights like this? Where? In a gym, in our house, outside, on a video.
● In today’s video, Rig is in a gym and is about to teach one someone how to make a very different muscle stronger. Who do you think Rig is teaching: Miss Tina, Gizmo, Gears, or Widget? Children guess.
●
Good
guesses! Let’s watch the video and see!
Leave the question unanswered until it is revealed in the video.
Play Video (The Obedience Muscle)
The Obedience Muscle
Today we are going to Rig’s Workout Room to visit Rig and Gears.
Optional Discussion following the video.
● Let’s see who guessed correctly. Who was Rig teaching to build muscles? Gears.
● What muscle did Gears want to strengthen first? His arms (biceps).
● What muscle did Rig want to strengthen instead? The obedience muscle.
● Is there really an obedience muscle on our bodies? No!
● No, but the more we obey, the more we grow strong to be like Jesus!
● When should we obey; right away or later? Right away!
● Gears finally picked up his toys, but he complained about it. This wasn’t really obeying with his heart. Should we be mad, sad, or cheerful when we obey? Cheerful.
