Leader Introduction
Rig makes an amazing catch to win the big game for his team and the crowd goes wild. Everyone seems to be celebrating—everyone but Rig. Miss Tina and the other robots find Rig in the locker room by himself with a very sad look on his face. Rig tells Miss Tina that after his big catch to win the game, he saw his foot was out of bounds. The catch should not count, so his team should not have won the game. Rig knows he should do the right thing and tell the truth. The problem is that he is scared because the coaches, team and the fans will be mad. Miss Tina reminds Rig that God will give him the courage to do the right thing. After Rig reveals the truth to everyone, he feels much better; so much better that even though his team lost, he feels like a winner!
Today’s Bible story reinforces and expands the lesson from last time about God speaking to Moses through a burning bush. God calls Moses to free the Israelites from Pharaoh in Egypt. However, Moses feels that he isn’t the man for the job. He makes excuse after excuse why he cannot do what God wants him to do. God shows extreme patience with Moses. He performs miracles and even sends Moses’ brother, Aaron, to go with Moses to Egypt. Finally, Moses has the courage to do the right thing and chooses to obey God.
In this lesson, we will learn that God provides help and strength to give us the courage to do the right thing; even everyday things like telling the truth
