Prayer

In Daniel chapter one, God enabled Daniel to live in a way that was pleasing to Him even while he served King Nebuchadnezzar in Babylon. Daniel and his three friends chose to remain pure before God and not eat the rich foods the king provided.

Read< Daniel 1:8:

But Daniel was determined not to defile himself by eating the food and wine given to them by the king. He asked the chief of staff for permission not to eat these unacceptable foods.

After 3 years of training to serve the king, Daniel and his three friends became wiser and looked healthier than all the other men!

God enabled and equipped Daniel to stand strong in His faith and to boldly do His will and follow His Law. God also equips us and enables us to do His will and follow His commandments. In fact, God gives us a Helper to be successful. Do you know His name? The Holy Spirit.

Yes; when Jesus rose from the dead and went to heaven, He sent the Holy Spirit to live in us! The Holy Spirit enables and equips Jesus’ followers to please God and do great things!

Let’s bow our heads, close our eyes, and pray. First, thank God for sending the Holy Spirit to equip you with everything you need to do His will and to live each day to please Him. Allow time for children to pray silently or aloud.

Now, let’s ask God to enable us to do great things for Him as we trust Him and follow the leading of the Holy Spirit living in us. Allow time for children to pray.

Close in prayer: Heavenly Father, we thank You for equipping and enabling us to do great things. Through Jesus, we receive every good thing from You to live a victorious life! Help us to stand strong in our faith to fulfill Your will and plan for our lives. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
