Right Prayers: Communicate with God.

Let’s say our SuperTruth together: “We are made right with God through Christ.”

God loves us so much that He sent Jesus to rescue us from our sin. Through Jesus’ offering, we are made right with God through Christ. Yet, we need to do something before we can receive God’s gift through Christ. As I read Romans 3:2225, listen for the answer.

22We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. 23For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24Yet God, in His grace, freely makes us right in His sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when He freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed His life, shedding His blood.

Raise your hand if you know the answer! What must we do before we can receive God’s gift? Place our faith in Jesus Christ. Believe that Jesus sacrificed His life and shed His blood for us.

Who did Jesus come to rescue; who can be made right with God? Everyone who believes, no matter who we are.

We must believe in Jesus and place our faith completely in Christ—not in our own good deeds or actions. The work is done—completed; there is nothing we can add to it. His perfect sacrifice fulfilled God’s requirement.

If you trust in Jesus as your Savior, you are right with God; there is nothing better than that! Close your eyes and bow your heads. Thank Jesus for His ultimate sacrifice on the cross, then thank Him for helping you every day to resist temptation and sin as you freely serve God.

If you want to be right with God and have not asked Jesus to be Your Savior, today can be your day! Each time I pray, I will pause so that you can repeat the words aloud or in your heart.

For those who have prayed this prayer before, you can still repeat the words with us and rejoice in your salvation! You can also pray in your heart for anyone who may believe in Jesus for the first time today.

Close in prayer, allowing time after each phrase for the children to pray silently or repeat aloud after you: Dear Lord Jesus… I believe You died on the cross for me… to pay the price for my sins… to make me right before God… and to take me to heaven someday… Come live in my heart… Fill me with Your Spirit… so I can live to please You… In Your saving name I pray, Amen.
